Description

The new memorial images celebrating the lives of those who had brought us much joy on Saturday Mornings.

The legendary funnyman Robin Williams supplemented his role as Mork in the spin-off animated series MORK & MINDY/LAVERNE & SHIRLEY/FONZ HOUR and made a guest appearance on Richard Pryor's short-lived Saturday morning vehicle, PRYOR'S PLACE. And while he didn't return to the role of the Genie for DISNEY'S ALADDIN series, he did reprise it for the GREAT MINDS THINK 4 THEMSELVES segment of Disney's One Saturday Morning seen between the regular programs.

You can check out the programs they were on and more at Saturday Mornings Forever.

He's one of the kind. His roles in Aladdin, Jumanji, Good Will Hunting, Dead Poet Society, Nine Months, RV, and License to Wed were the greatest. He's a stand-up guy, an Academy Award winner, a comic book fan, an anime fan, and a fan of video games. He's a fan of Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Warner Bros. and producer Jon Peters offer Williams the role of The Joker in Batman 89, but they used him as bait to trick Jack Nicholson to sign on to play The Clown Prince of Crime. Director Joel Schumacher asked Williams to play Edward Nygma/The Riddler in Batman Forever, and Lee and Janet Scott Batchler wrote The Riddler with Williams in mind. Williams read the script and he loved it. Due to a salary dispute, the role of The Prince of Puzzlers went to Jim Carrey, and Williams found out about it when he read it in the trades. Williams will be missed when he's with Chris Farley in heaven (comedy heaven that is).
